What about the F150s that staff chiefs use?
I believe the reason they went to these vehicles is because they were available with diesel engines, that way they could fuel up almost anywhere. Most of the other types of vehicles mentioned are not available with diesels.

The Tahoe, Yukon and F-150 are all available with diesel engines.

Just my opinion just like the rigs. Ordering most of the same Make would be a lot easier on the shops and maintenance.

With the Battalions and EMS Conditions being the same but then you have Ford F150 Staffs Cars. Ford Pick Ups, Chevy vans,

If everything was Ford, like SSLs, CPCs Chief gigs, Vans parts would be available…, as we know the Seagrave engines, ladders and tower ladders for sure have interchangeable parts

There is no gasoline pump / tank in FDNY FHs anymore only diesel but that should not be a limitation on selecting a Chief's Rig...Units already have a gas card for use at commercial gas stations to purchase gasoline for Power Saws & generators etc the same as the NYPD does for their vehicles so no reason to purchase an oversize vehicle just to use diesel....the crew cab pickups are often problematic due to length as far as maneuverability in City streets as well as parking out of the way at a Fire scene & the actual parking inside some FHs.

Are you sure that GM20009 is Batt 29 and not Batt 39?

Does anyone know if Battalion 39 was similarly parked when the 39 was with Engine 236, or were they piggybacked?
The houses are virtually identical.
