Adjustments made to the Total Number of 5th Alarms throughout the city.

Previously I had reported 16 - 5th Alarms City Wide.

One of our members pointed that out to me and after a recount, I now come up with a TOTAL of 9 - Fifth Alarms Citywide for the year 2023

I THANK that member for taking the time to point that out to me.

Had a hard time believing 635 All Hands, and 42 2-2s just from a single boro, but pretty much made it believable once I saw Bx came in with the most 5-5's.

For the year 2023, according to the NYC Bell Club report, the FDNY responded to a total of 653,224 incidents.
That's 1,789 incidents per day - every day of the year.

That includes all responses whether fire, medical, rescue incidents, etc.
An average of 74 incidents per hour - seven days a week/24 hours a day.

I think that's got to put the FDNY in FIRST PLACE Nationwide, and maybe Worldwide too.

Not even counting EMS, which were 1,619,863 runs for 2023 or 4,437 runs a day.

Thank you Lebby.
Yes, the FDNY/EMS has a staggering amount of runs.

Those numbers need to be added in as well.

A LIFESAVING ORGANIZATION in which few members are ever recognized for the daily job they do.
