Yes "memorymaster", I know one FDNY member Matt O' who is walking the floor from Engine 48 across to the truck, Ladder 56.
A place he told me he greatly appreciates working.

The reason I asked was down here in Philly the officers get transferred every 3 years.,,,one other thing,,,the other day I saw a picture of an engine company restoring their hose line and I saw red hose,,,what is the significance of the red hose. Thanks

If I'm not mistaken the red hose is high pressure hose
