I was told the other day by the road mechanic that seagrave was the only bidder on the aerials contract. The first truck on the order should be ladder 156 which is the only one of the original 2011 Ferrara’s not replaced.

The majority of the 2011's are all in service.

Maybe L156 would be the first of the 2011 to be replaced according to shop number. L137 I believe was lost due to Hurricane Sandy and replaced. That 2011 rig was the first of that order. Kind of follows the replacements back when the order of 1986 Seagrave Rearmounts were delivered. L137 got SL8601 followed by SL8602, L156. I know L19 and L123 also received 1986's and I think L24 got one of the 5 as well.

There was a batch of the 2011s that got replaced. A few of the early builds had a lot of issues (4) and a couple of them got hit with saltwater from Sandy when they were pretty much brand new trucks (81, 137 and a few others). All of those companies now have 2014s.

Expect the 2011 Ferraras to be replaced with new seagraves when production begins .... there are specs for the new seagrave aerials floating around this site ... the design will be similar to the ferrara aerials with the storage in between the guys in the cab just like the Ferraras if I was reading it correctly

With the ongoing production delays and problems affecting car and truck manufacturers, will the same problems affect fire apparatus builders in the future?
