2.4 FIREICE REMOVED FROM SERVICE
Effective December 13, 2025, all use of FireIce Extinguishing Agent is to be discontinued. Incident
Commanders shall no longer special call FireIce to respond to the scene of any alarms. FDNY units shall remove
all FireIce product and the FireIce eductor from all FDNY apparatus. Company Commanders shall safely dispose
of any FireIce product and the FireIce eductor. Any questions shall be directed to the FDNY Foam Manager.

Never heard of this product. Water, Co2, PKP, AFFF, Halon, Sand/Soil is all I remember.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was found to be cancer causing.

Fireice was a gel that stuck to burning material eliminating oxygen, I think it was supposed to be used for manhole fires. Just another better mouse trap gimmick came out about 10 years, or so, ago.
