im a runner and im constantly thirsty, but im not sure this is the best idea, it sounds good in theory but i think it needs some more transparency and thought first.

So if you jump on a hydrant with one of those can you slow the RAC down ?

Although not used as often, the design would mean hydrants loose (one of) their 2 1/2 connections.

Not a fan of this or any impediment to getting water into the pumps. It’s hard enough in some places to get to on the hydrant because of cars and outdoor dining sheds why complicate things further. If the goal is to reduce single use plastic bottles in the waste stream which is a good thing then make a big push for reusable bottles and leave the hydrant for firefighting.

Remember when we were growing up and you could return a Coke bottle for a nickel? Put a .10 fee per bottle on them, clear up the problem and aggrevate the millennials!

Ha. But don’t even joke about this. Next they would want Fire Trucks parked on corners as water fountains on hot days.
