Hydrants for water bottles?

“The water you drink from your faucet is the same water that you get from a fire hydrant," Estevez said.

Who drinks from a tap anymore?

Not a fan of this or any impediment to getting water into the pumps. It’s hard enough in some places to get to on the hydrant because of cars and outdoor dining sheds why complicate things further. If the goal is to reduce single use plastic bottles in the waste stream which is a good thing then make a big push for reusable bottles and leave the hydrant for firefighting.

Remember when we were growing up and you could return a Coke bottle for a nickel? Put a .10 fee per bottle on them, clear up the problem and aggrevate the millennials!
