Houston is also more unsafe in pretty much every per capita crime metric than NYC. More murders per capita (almost more murders in total, which I found wild) and a significantly higher chance of violent crime. NYC is still one of the safest big cities around, thanks in no small part to the members of the NYPD, like those here who removed this shotgun aka flintlock off the streets.
