LA Mayor rejects FDNY help

Oooooffff

I see a ton of houses on fire, so the “they’re not familiar with wild land firefighting” isn’t going to cut it.

oh but the dozens of acres that burnt in the city like 2/3 months ago werent put out by the FDNY...you see..the fdny didnt know how and thus the fires just magically went out!

How about instead posting useless political b.s., just to start a "lib's and dem's suck, maga all the way" party, we do something useful?

Why does this article upset you so much? I don’t recall (I just checked) mentioning politics. You did. That was your immediate go to as some sort of unhinged defense mechanism.

Oooooffff

What I find weird with this is that it's only the NY Post that has said anything about this, no one else

So with over 100 engine companies in LA City and another 200 in LACounty FD. If FDNY we sends 50 members out there couldn’t they be assigned one FDNY member per company of engines still covering the city and not involved in wildfire operations so as to free up 50 LA firefighters to partake in wildfire operations or get some much needed rehab.

Im
Playing devils advocate of why the request was denied.
And im saying in general that although we may not have such extensive knowledge on brush fires as those in Cali, we definitely have a good amount, especially following the few hundred we had last year in just a month. On top of which, NYTF1 (I believe) did alot of management for some of the large brush fires here in the North east.

FDNY IMT, NYTF1 is a USAR team

FDNY could have filled in with normal fire responses relieving LAFD personnel to fight the Conflagrations.

Seattle FD sent a task force from 20 hours away. Supposedly their rigs had to pass CA emissions inspections before being put into service.

The FDNY has a lot of experience fighting wilderness/interface fires. Take a look at FDNY operations in the past in Staten Island, Queens, including the Rockaways, The North Bronx and Even in Mid and Upper Manhattan. The F.D.N.Y. Incident Management Team has been involved in helping to manage major wilderness/interface fires on the West Coast and throughout the U.S.A. Also, the present fires in California have spread to buildings into even the CITY of Los Angles and other suburban/urban areas. FDNY has a proven track record of handling any TYPE OF FIRE. Ask the brother and sister firefighter in the Greater Los Angeles area, if they would like any trained firefighters to help them and relive them and I know their answer would be YES! Hay, it worked in New Orleans after the Hurricane why not let FDNY help in southern California.
