Sad to see the loss of Yayo at 311/158. They really are "Man's Best Friends".

I can only guess that for the years that "Yayo" spent with the members of 311/158, he had a good life and a good home.

Our pets are our true friends. If you treat them good, they will be good to you in return. They don't care how rich or poor, fat or skinny you are. But it is a very sad day when their time comes.

On 9-1-18 we lost our Penny a roughly 10 yr old Female Maltese/Yorkie due to organ cancers......on 10-27-18 we got our Smokey a then Male 4 month old Terrier....he came from the same Rescue Group in Tennessee called "Goofy Foot Dog Rescue" www.goofyfootrescue.org/about.html it was the same procedure filing online & seeing available Dogs online then getting screened ....they a have route that roughly every 2 weeks they truck the selected dogs in crates in a cattle car like trailer up from Tenessee up as far as New Hampshire.... their closest stop to NYC is in Bedminster NJ the same spot where we picked up Penny .....Penny was held by a hoarder & had a bad life previously...Smokey was born in a good home (from a woman's Dog & her Mothers Dog inadvertantly mating) the woman was now herself pregnant again & gave the Pup up.....he as a Puppy is very active of course & gives the Cats more of a run for their money than Penny...on our trip to NC last week he was excellent in the truck all the way..... PS American Airlines wants $125.00 EACH WAY to bring him as a carry on !....glad he does not mind the truck.

There's so much to say about the CPR routine, but I don't think the moderators would appreciate any of it.  Hmmmm...

One balmy afternoon on Knickerbocker Av L 112, we opened the apparatus door. Without hesitation and in a flash a white chihuahua came charging in like he owned the joint. We looked up and down the street for it's owner, but there was no one in sight, this dog just appeared! Well of course we fed him and groomed him. And then in the very fine tradition of Knickerbocker firehouse someone took out the black shoe polish and gave him spots. Presto! We now had a "toy" dalmation. After a few hours he took off again, had enough of our shenanigans. I often wondered what he owners thought when they saw Sparky back home.
