New Satellites in Production

Jason Ingram posted some pics of the new satellites in production at Ferrara on the NYC Fire Buffs Facebook page.  And yes, they're on Peterbuilt chassis.

Thanks for sharing, looks like they've made some significant changes comparing these to the existing satellites. Of course the the Peterbilt cabs is the biggest one but the walk-through to accessing deck gun will be a nice feature. I don't remember, are the existing deck guns able to be remotely controlled like these appear to be?
 
Don't know, Bull, but it was my understanding that they planned to take the deck guns from the existing satellites and mount them on the new ones.  I don't know if that is happening.
 
It would appear in those photos that there is "something" that looks like a monitor/deck gun in place.
 
I agree, C'ville . . . but are they new or from the existing Macks?  Perhaps a member from one of the satellite host engine companies (or a knowledgeable buff) can help.  Are the deck guns gone from the existing satellites?
 
Why did they remove the smaller one s that?s were on the rear before.
 
Here's what appears to be an answer to the monitor question.  This photo of Satellite 5 was taken at today's 10-75 on Staten Island. As you can see, the monitor is still on the rig, and it looks nothing like the monitors on the new ones. Picture from SI Live.

Looks like a new (foam capable?) monitor from Williams Fire & Hazard Control.
 
I was part of a team that spec'd two rigs with high volume Williams Fire Control Nozzles. Very good at flowing high volume of Dry Chemical, water and foam.
 
Interesting that they are being transported with the FDNY logo uncovered. I forget what back it was but some of the newer trucks recently have been being shipped with the logos covered up. I believe those trucks are being driven however so maybe I don't need to be covered if they are on a flatbed
 
I do not really have an answer on the FDNY logos being covered or not but as Bulldog said maybe the fact that it is being flat bedded instead of driven may have something to do with it ?.... there could be a number of reasons ....liability for an accident may come into play ?
