Good point about the ESU trucks. But I doubt you could get one for $222K, and E-One has never built the small ones. But I'll bet its for PD, not FDNY.
 
Any idea how many rear moments the contract is for? I'm guessing it's over 50. Also, how many TLs & Engines?
 
The Parks Dept had a bid out for a temp HQ van based on Ford F550 chassis..
 
Sorry for my nerd out, and correct me if my count is off, but below is a table of the current inventory of front line apparatuses listed in the bid.
I've broken down the cost per unit based on the line item. Maybe this will help someone tell us how many of each are in the contract.

(For example the price per unit of the 75TL is too low. It should be about triple that, so well say 1/3 of the 75TLs are included.)

There is also a contract for "Vehicle-Personnel & Equipment Carrier-FDNY" for Batt. , Div. & EMS pickups.

All those costs per unit seem low, I agree with your estimate for the TLs, last I heard engines were almost $600,000 so the cost per unit looks wrong for them also. I haven't seen a price for a RM recently but based on the service history I could definitely see them replacing all of the existing RMs.

Subtract out the batch of new Seagrave engines that are in the current contract.

There is also a chance some of these contracts could have options for more units

Given the strict specifications, and warranty my best guess is:
(23) 75' Aerialscopes (I do believe the contract also gives the city to add 95' to this if needed)
(55) 2,000 GPM Pumpers
100' Rear Mounts I would say its safe to say that is should be all 69 Rear-Mount Ladders
 
Yes, I know new rescues are being put into service as I type this. But now that it seems Ferrara and KME are no longer bidding on FDNY contracts. is anybody willing to speculate on who might build the NEXT rescues? I don't recall Seagrave ever bidding on them in the past, so who? WAGs and results of anal extraction welcome. ;) :rolleyes: :ROFLMAO: :cool:
 
I'd guess Seagrave, if not Ferrara. Right now, Seagrave seems to be the only manufacturer able to meet the departments requirements. Also recently they have stepped up thier rescue game, just look at New Haven's R*1.
 
I know that this info is dated but the 2012 Seagrave TL's were 1.49M each. Info from the Ops Ref page 243. KME engines were 635K.

I would say YES. As in the past if the contact is the same as the past it had said that the rig must be at the shops .delievered and accepted by 2359 Hrs.

This should go for all the Seagraves...
Tower Ladders and Rearmounts also.
