Always sad to hear about a loss of life may god bless all involved it should be noted that years ago there was a firehouse on Astor Street that was closed during a consolidation in which companies were disbanded and others moved into a new firehouse including the unit that was on Astor Street which is further away increasing response time to this area, just throwing it out there!

Unfortunately, Newark struggles with funding for the companies they have now
