For a number of years, before 1959, the boats were assigned as Engine Companies, & if the boat moved to another station, the company number went with then. Then FDNY stopped doing that, & afterwards in 1959 they changed them to Marine Companies.

Marine 1 - Pier 1 then to Pier A & up to Bloomfield St (Mar # 2 Station) Hudson Rv

Marine 2 - Bloomfield St. Closed 1991 - Hudson Rv

Marine 3 - West 35 St, Bloomfield St, West 40th St. Hudson Rv Closed 1966

Marine 4 - Foot of 154 St (Qn) - Ft. Totten (East Rv) Closed 1971

Marine 5 - Foot of East 90 St. - Gracie Mansion (East Rv)  Closed 1976

Marine 6 - Foot of Grand St - Bklyn Navy Yard (East Rv)

Marine 7 - Foot of Fulton St - just south of the Bklyn Bridge (East Rv) Closed 1970 / 1911 was in Mahn

BLAZE - 158-57 Cross Bay Blvd (Qn) 1968 - 1970

FLAME - 402 Beach 169 St (Qn) 1963 - 1970 (Fireboat on a trailer)

HACKETT - Shell Bank Basin (Qn) - 1970 - 1974 (same location as the BLAZE)

The Hackett was given to the City Island Business community for a $1.00, but it would have cost too much money to repair to make it operational, so it sat on land, near Fordham St, for years on the island never used.

Jim:  Great info, thanks for posting.  One very minor correction:  343 was placed in service in 2010.

Excellent rundown of marine units.  Unfortuantely, I remember many of these going back to the Abram Hewitt, Gaynor, etc.  Willy D remembers the real old ones from the 1800s.

I didn't realize that Firefighter II was in service yet.  When did it go into service?

I do believe 9 also has an Alpha boat as well. IMHO, Fort Totten should have a boat there year round.

Hey, '150' I got to agree with you about Marine 9A. It was in service for a while, before Marine 8 was started.
