Oceanic H&L #1 - oldest volunteer FD in NYC, 137 years and still responding. Located in Travis, SI. New BFU put into service - already responded to the SI 2nd Alarm in Bloomfield the other day. Article notes that according to FDNY, there have been 7,400 Brush Fires on SI in the last 15 years. Interesting. Both Oceanic and Richmond Engine respond to Brush Fires on the Island.
