Today, February 24th '25 we learn of the passing of the singer Roberta Flack at 88 years old.
May she Rest in Peace.

Some of her hit songs included:
"The first time I ever saw your face" - 1969
"Tonight, I celebrate my love" - 1983
"Will you still love me tomorrow" - 1972

This was one of her most famous songs becoming a hit song in 1973

Two long time singers have announced they will be retiring and have canceled some of their upcoming live concerts.

Frankie Valli who is now 90 years old had his first big hit Sherry back in 1962 with a group called "The Four Seasons

"



Also Johnny Mathis who is now 89 years old wrote his first big hit back in 1957 with a song called "Chances Are".

Here is Johnny Mathis recently singing another famous hit of his called "Misty".

 
Sad to inform you that Johnny Tillotson passed away at the age of 86. "Poetry In Motion", "Talk Back Trembling Lips" and many others made our radio and 45 days back then very enjoyable. Rest In Peace Johnny and thanks for the memories.

Bobby Hart passed away two weeks ago at age 86. Best known for the hit song "I Wonder What She's Doing Tonite?" with his partner Tommy Boyce (d 1994) released in 1968. Their greatest work , however, was producing and song writing for the NBC sitcom "The Monkees" which opened in September, 1966,

Say what you want about the singing group and their bubblegum music, but it's hard to argue with success. Hart, Boyce, and the Monkees turned out four No. 1 albums in 1967. They have been the only group to do this in the entire history of the Billboard 200 charts.

It was music from a different time and the song was called "Hey Paula" sung by Ray Hildebrand (as Paul) and Jill Jackson (as Paula).
I'm NOT sure if Jill Jackson is still with us, but sadly on August 23, 2023, singer Ray Hildebrand passed away at the age of 82 years old.

This might have been his last performance singing "Hey Paula" on the Ray Stevens Show about one year ago in 2022.
