Fr. Daniel J. Coscia was appointed on 5/21/60. He was assigned to Engine 82 on 9/10/60 and retired from Engine 70 on 4/29/78.

Possibly an early '60s FDNY SQ*5 LT Front before the panel w/LIEUTENANT & the SQ*LT insignia were added.....back during this period LTs had the same Insert w/colors the same as a FF.... CPTs had a white insert w/appropriate number color....

Something fishy about that frontpiece. The axe blade should be on the left (the wearer's right, just like on a uniform cap).
I have a feeling it was made up to look like an FDNY frontpiece.

In regard to Helmet of LT. J.A. DELUCA 313 above...Thanks to poster 211231 for this info on it .....
"John A. De Luca was appointed 11/1/58 and assigned to Ladder 119.
He retired 7/18/87 as a Lieutenant in Engine 313.
He apparently died about five or six years ago.
I have no further information about him.
Rest in peace, Brother."
