Ah, OK - so they just changed the name. I think Comm Cord, is much easier and quicker then this resource leader. In any case
why is it that the guy/gal that runs the board is considered a resource leader - I think placement coordinator would be better, being that the board is used to identify where all units are operating.

Is the Resource unit leader related to the second alarm RM-1? If not what is RM-1?
That being the case, if he's managing remaining units on hand as well, why the need for a Battalion chief to be a staging manager at the staging area, since everyone wears a radio and is in communication with the command post on any number of designated frequencies. Two reasons:
1) Because the RUL manages resources inside fire building as well as remaining units on hand.
2) Line Placement Coordinator is soon becoming the new term for Engine officers
With a I.C., RUL, and maybe 3-4 additional chiefs at the command post suitcase, what would the function be for the 5+ chief's aide/firefighters that drove them to the operation? I always thought the division and battalion aides ran the board.RUL runs command board and assists FC01 when they arrive.......Staging area manager is useless........Unless it is a prolonged incident with many additional resourses being requested....Unless it is a relocated BC assigned as the SAM......BC designated SAM is usually 30+ minutes from box......they arrive at staging area to find units already at command post or committed......This is just something that we can say we do on paper but does not work in practical application.
