Engine 53's old firehouse at 175 E. 104th Street was converted into "El Museo Del Barrio" museum and Engine 54 at 304 W. 47th St. was converted into a small Off-B'way theatre.
While reviewing some of my Facebook music industry contacts I stumbled upon the "Faison Firehouse Theatre" which is located at 6 Hancock Place (former Ladder 40 firehouse) ;)
They were not all there at the same time. Rescue 2 was organized March 1,1925 at 160 Carlton Ave.(E210) but was moved to 365 Jay from Oct. 22, 1929 to May 1, 1946 then returned to E210. L118 was organized at 365 Jay on June 8, 1901 and moved to 74 Middagh St. on May 22, 1929. E207 was at Pearl...
Fire Bell Club had its annual visit to the FDNY Shops on 6/14/11. I got a couple of shots of new apparatus. The first group is of L123's new Ferrara rearmount showing the new rear access steps, Smeal aerial ladder and a view from the turntable:
I don't have them listed by Reg. numbers, but the 12 went to Ladder 6, 26, 28, 40, 104, 106, 110, 118, 143, 147, 166, & 175. All I know is that L26 & 106 were the last two assigned from that order.
No, it is one I've been personally keeping up for many years with information I've geaned from various sources (books, company logs, company/unit webpages, photos, etc.). The pages are large and it is handwritten so photocopying it would be a task. ;)
I have a listing of apparatus with ladder companies that had 1938 FWD 85 ft. TDA's in 1946. There were 14 of them: 1, 16, 18, 23, 30, 35, 36, 48, 105, 106, 111, 149, 151 & 157.
Back in 1946: E296 had a 31 Seagrave pumper, E297 had a 1941 Mack L 1000gpm pumper with a 1929 Seagrave hosewagon, L130 had a 1927 Seagrave 75 ft. aerial. ;) Yes, that old 125th St. College Pt. firehouse was a shack. ;)
