Yes sadly Our Lady of Angels Grammer School closed about 4 years ago. The NYC school board bought the building and it is now some type of Public School magnet program. Sad. I graduated there in 1973. And Sad about Visitation as well.
That’s an odd oriented building with the park in front. Multiple wings. Best roof access would most likely be on the three side off of Claflin Avenue - across the street from the former Our Lady of Angels School
That’s another one of those unique west Bronx buildings built into the side of a hill. This one has entrances on Bailey and higher up on Ft. Independence. Looks like a 150-200 foot stretch just to the exterior standpipe connection
Neighborhood started a downward spiral around 72-73. Creeped up along Sedgwick and then spread sideways down to Bailey and over to Jerome. We moved out of there in 75 and went up to Rockland.
Yes it would. Quite a few of those company patches were designed in the late 70’s and early 80’s thus as time goes on the stories on how and why the unique company logo was chosen begins to fade.
