As most engines are 4 man, they send the 3rd engine as 10-14 (roster staffing) to increase manpower. The response is now 3 and 2 with engine 33 the 10-14 engine. At least that is how it was explained to me. The firehouse teleprinter would read 10-14 roster staffing on the ticket. Not sure what...

Where I’m in in Howard beach, 225 seems to be always second due. I guess they come down Linden to the conduit and right on cross bay, while 285 has to turn onto Crossbay near further north 🤷♂️
I remember living not far from 270, before the rescue pumpers were ordered, they added to it a big diamond plate box with 2 smaller ones on top, and a few where the roll up hoses went to, and a red “Squad” above 270.
