Kid, I believe it. I called for a Rescue Medic unit one night for an impending gas explosion in a large building. The unit was not that far away and I was told by the dispatcher, "You already have an ALS unit on scene." Just the opposite of what you questioned.

I believe that is their technical rescue gear. Does not replace the regular turnout gear, it just is used for rescues

Been around for a while now, here's a post from 2019 and it was even a few years old back then.

New PPE?

Saw some pictures today at the dedication of the playground in Queens for Lt. Davidson and saw some guys with Squad 288 coats on that looked a little unusual. Is that the new PPE they are issuing now? Anyone know how it is holding up?
