1/15/25 Bronx 4th Alarm Box 3740

Must have been a lot of stuff going on at the same time. E38 third due? Many companies out of sequence...43, 75, 79, 95, 52, 88, 62, etc. Same with the truck companies.
Queens companies taking up residence in the Bronx these days.
E38 3rd due - correct

It's been a busy week. If 81/46 didn't see it immediately, either it went up very fast or it was going up slowly and no one noticed it.

It is impossible to "drop it down". That implies that you are/were using more than 1&1. Drop it down from what? A 2&2, a 1&2?
A stupid viral phrase that gets used unthinkingly.

"Is a 10-18 sufficient?" "can you release the other units?"

"10-18 for a 10-XX"t
They were they’re for a while and it seemed like nothing was going on” droppping it down means can you keep just 1 engine and 1 truck or recommend a signal because they have other calls in those units areas that need responding to.

On that call for electrical fire it’s a 3 engine 2 truck response. , most runs come over as fire that need 3and 2 most electrical fires can use a “10-18” 1 Eng and 1 truck usually over heated something or defective outlet .

You're missing his point, which is about terminology. Recommending an 18 is one thing, "dropping down" is another and implies you were using more than that

Not sure I understand what you are saying here.
There were companies closer than 38 that were AQ or 10-8. But the box assignments done decades ago, and then BARB, didnt fix most of those issues. It happens every day, and its incredibly frustrating lol

E38 was never assigned anywhere near 3d due at this box. As I said, third or fourth alarm for them. I don't know what Barb would have to do with this. I agree that Barb messed things up in a lot of instances, but not in this case.
That E38 was assigned third due was just an indication of a lot of other stuff going on in the area. But I think we are in agreement here.

Their home box is 3505 not 3740.
Yes it is, and until the 1970s Box 3505 Baileyy Avenue at Albany crescent) brought only a two and two on the initial first alarm response...
81 75. 46 33. Bn 19
E79 on the All Hands 7-5 signal

95 48 43. 37. Bn 15 on the 2d alarm

Of course some of these units have moved since then. Bn 27 was still down on intervale Avenue.
