12/12/24 Brooklyn 3rd Alarm 10-66 Box 2982

Was there some sort of construction work going on there? Saw some pick up trucks in front. Small dump truck looking thing in driveway.
That thing collapsed very quickly.
Seemed like wind was really whipping that fire before the collapse.
Thank God all made it out safely!!

Yes, House Was Under Construction.

Those companies are seeing a lot of work recently. especially 250, I counted 7 jobs for 250 in the last 7 days, a couple of them first due.

You can see they used the deck pipe from
E330 from early on in the operation - could see a very strong stream of water coming from the deck pipe.

Great rundown too!
Didn't look like there was much other option the way that place was ripping when they got there, especially after the roof came down. Impressive work to get the house next door doused as quick as they did, looks like the wind was working hard to get that one involved too.

172 was in fact first due. Boxes are messed up. 172 should be first due, 156 second.

Your correct, when I was in L156 any boxes west of Ocean Parkway we knew E330 TL 172 would be first due. Getting out of Quarters and trying to maneuver down Kings Highway or Ave P was not the best, especially during a day tour!

Was it was windy in the Bk was it was in southeastern CT yesterday? strong steady and some big time gusts

Yup. We all know ocean parkway is the divider. On the highways side? They’re first due no matter what ticket says, and vice versa for 65th street

ANY building under construction or demolition MUST be considered Dangerous. The "Inherent Compartmentation" that exists in a legally occupied building, including walls, floors and doors often are not present in buildings under construction or demolition, or vacant buildings for that matter.
The covered walls and ceilings, protect the structural members from the fire and doors and complete floors reduce fire spread. Does anyone know if this was a wood, Truss Roof? Residential Wood truss roofs can collapse in under 5 minutes from fire below especially when no protective ceiling is in place when the building is under construction or demolition. That 5-minute starts when the heat of the fire reaches the truss areas, often well before the fire department arrives. "Beware the Truss." Captain Bob Rainey FDNY Engine 26 retired
