2/19/24 Queens 3rd Alarm Box 4209

From the FDNY Facebook page:

"At 1152 am Monday, the FDNY responded to 62-53 60th Road in Queens for a report of fire in a home. Units arrived within four minutes and found heavy fire in the building. A third-alarm was transmitted.
“Multiple handlines were stretched into the fire building. The fire extended to the building on the right. There were five minor injuries, including a firefighter,” said Deputy Assistant Chief John Sarrocco. “There was a partial collapse in the floor, and he fell through the floor into the basement, but he is fine.”
EMS Division Chief Kathleen Knuth said, “Thankfully, between the teamwork from Fire and EMS providers here, all were able to be treated and transported to area hospitals where they will be evaluated.”
The cause of the fire is under investigation."
