"1444 Request Mutual Aid from Manhattan to Jersey City for General Alarm – Advised to call Hudson County
Harrison, Kearney, Hoboken".

Did these other NJ municipalities also respond to NYC ? Was Jersey City, etc, able toconnect to the NYC hydrants ?
Jersey City had six engines and a BC in Richmond on mutual aid.
Then JCFD had a fire in a block long warehouse, fully involved, requiring a general alarm.
They requested mutual aid from FDNY but Manhattan already had 29 engines in Richmond and could not spare any more companies.
The NJ communities that responded went to Jersey City.
