Queens *2nd Alarm* Box 0269. JFK International Airport. Alert 3- inbound aircraft with no landing gear

Foam is health and environmental hazard now I don’t think they would put foam down prior to landing like most ARFF did back in the day.

Looks like this might be the flight. Tried to land at LGA, probably had the lading gear issue on approach and was then diverted to JFK due to longer runways.

Doesnt JFK airport have its own FD? Who would be IC here?
We back them up. Port Authority jurisdiction. Usually line up
Port authority pd has the airports bridges and port authority but fdny goes snd does all the heavy lifting except for foaming the runway
Pretty much, usually enhanced 2nd alarm depending on the location of runway saw Marine unit responding, etc.. We had one in 2006 (bird into engine)JFK multiple rigs lined up outside on hangar road. Ended up everything ok not needed.

PAPD has responsibility for the initial response for aircraft incidents. They would handle the initial knock down of an aircraft crash-related fire and conduct initial rescue of passengers/crew members.

we went there a few times a week - mostly nothing - had a few building fires - we handled them - and some plane issues - I was on vacation or off duty for the good ones

PA has Rigs with onboard water for quick knockdown FF but FDNY has the water relay capability for long term FF ops as well as Laddering capability for accessing a raised fuselage.

Port Authority PD double as ARFF.
FDNY has command on structural fires.
It's a shame the Port Authority radio system went encrypted. I miss this system the most.
