I have a question,,,how many alarms can SI handle with just the companys that are physically located on the island,,,not including special units or BC's,,just engines and ladders.

There are 18 Engines and 12 Trucks on SI.

In theory, assuming 4 Engines and 3 Trucks (no special units) on an All Hands, SI companies would handle 4 single alarm All Hands Boxes.

You're right signal, the 23 stayed on the south shore for the night... gotta hold up the fort haha. If the job was on the north shore of the island, like last nights was, I think it can go up to a 3rd with just SI companies, not including Bn.'s from BK. After that, I think BK companies start crossing the bridge, not even talking about BK companies relocating. Might be wrong, idk.

The 21st Bn. gave the 10-75, they are quartered with first due engine 152. A few minutes later, the 2nd alarm was transmitted due to exposure problems, then about 30 seconds after that the 3rd alarm was transmitted. The rest is history after that, 4th and 5th being transmitted. Notice how E262 from Queens was 10-84, anyone know why? I was thinking they brought a second piece or something along those lines.

I believe E262 would be transporting the IMV.  Also, does anyone have a complete, top to bottom rundown, 1st through the 5th alarms?

Ok,,I guess I should have put it a bit differently,,,I know it probably wouldn't happen as I ask but,,could SI handled all 5 alarms with strickly company's that are located on SI. not talking about BC's or special units,,,just those on SI. Not 5 individual 10-75's,,a single 5 alarm fire. No cover company's from any other boro,,,just those on SI,,,not how the job would have actually been dispatched. Also whats the approx population of SI.

Approx population is 475,000. Island is too scarcely covered for that amount. SI is the only borough with under 1 million citizens.

SI has had 3 BCs since 1930 when the population was 1/3 of what it is now.  There are 300K more people, more buildings/congestion/fires/emergencies - and still only 3 BCs.  Over 30 years ago, SI chiefs believed a new battalion was needed then- best located in the center of SI - and that eventually it would need maybe 6 battalions and 2 divisions.

SI will need more units and firehouses as it continues to grow, as traffic gets worse and as workload increases.
