No, From An Overview It Might Look That Way.. But, 273/129 Have To Take The Expressway, & Loop All The Way Around. So 289/138, 316, Are Actually Probably Half As Far Distance Wise Than 273/129.

273 and 129 used to go left from quarters, left on Northern Blvd. to 126 street by the D.O.T. yard and go down to location or left from quarters to Roosevelt, left on Roosevelt to 126 street, right then up to location. Not having been there in a gazillion years I guess the road patterns have changed.

Can't they just make the left onto Roosevelt avenue and then take that all the way until citi field then turn right going north??

It looks like its literally a one minute response difference between 138 and 129 though Google maps doesn't count lights and sirens. It looks like L129 can just take a left out of quarters and hit Roosevelt and take a right on Seaver then just turn onto Northern. Though 138 has a few options, 43rd to 114th then right on Roosevelt then left on Seaver, then right on Northern. 43rd to 108 then right on Rossevelt then left on Seaver. Or 43rd to National then to Rossevelt to Seaver
