On Christmas Eve, we were informed
that Jim O?Meara one of our
most respected and beloved members
suffered a heart attack right before he
was to undergo his dialysis treatment.
Jim was an 82 year old Navy veteran
of the Korean War. He stayed in the
U.S. Naval Reserves for more than
30 years attaining the rank of Chief
Warrant Officer 4 and was known
for his more than two decades of
volunteer work with the Korean War
Veterans at the Brooklyn VA Hospital
and also being a tour guide at the Fort
Hamilton Museum. He retired from
the FDNY as a Lieutenant after 32
years of service. At our Post, he will
be remembered as the gentleman who
always went out of his way to help a
comrade

Rest in Peace, Brendan. Good guy, friend and neighbor. Used to give 132 a heads-up when a 105 1st due-132 2nd due box was coming in so we had a chance to beat them in. I don't know that 105 ever figured it out.

Brendan was a good friend of mine as well.  Always had a smile and good word.  He and I rode along the same time, in neighboring companies.  E 248 used to receive "tips" on incoming boxes from Dan Buckley when he was a dispatcher in the Brooklyn CO.  We used to beat E 281 to boxes without them knowing how.
