Increased fines to cut down on illegal parking at hydrants - what a joke, these are the same people that are driving around with uninsured, uninspected, unregistered vehicles almost always with out of state plates - the same people who never pay for tolls, e-z pass, etc. and who most likely owe who knows how much in unpaid parking fines already - like they would pay this hydrant parking violation fine - what a great idea!!!!!
You forgot, probably stolen as well.Increased fines to cut down on illegal parking at hydrants - what a joke, these are the same people that are driving around with uninsured, uninspected, unregistered vehicles almost always with out of state plates - the same people who never pay for tolls, e-z pass, etc. and who most likely owe who knows how much in unpaid parking fines already - like they would pay this hydrant parking violation fine - what a great idea!!!!!
How about tow the car to the pound and auction it off.
Just remember as a former MOS if we hit a car double parked the city is responsible for repairs or buying them a new car.Remember Batt Chief William Rinsdale of Batt 19. LODD caused by illegally blocked hydrants besides double & triple parked cars on Davidson Ave.
They do, they were towing EVERYBODY they could after covid, but for the most part they just like to ticket and then boot.Does NYPD no longer operate a tow truck fleet? They certainly did when I lived in the city and were not the least bit shy about towing entire blocks of cars and dropping them wherever any time Gossip Girl was filming in my neighborhood, sometimes over an hour before the posted no parking window even started.
Nothing like coming out of your apartment heading to work in a car that hasn't been stolen, just placed somewhere else on the island of Manhattan by someone who has long since left the area. Quite the scavenger hunt to start the day.
