From what I got first hand...Actually the apparatus will not transport, so paramedic is a possibility. This is the brainstorm of the new Commissioner. Since ambulance and engine stretches will be compatible, the FD members can package the patient. If an ambulance is too far out, they will meet at a location and swap out stretchers, thus saving time, putting the engine back in service quicker. EMS and UFOA honchos are in on the concept trial basis. The UFA has not taken a position yet, but is leaning toward favor.Paramedic engines in the future?
90% of patients can be packaged on a stair chair which takes up much less space. From what I got first hand...Actually the apparatus will not transport, so paramedic is a possibility.
