Capt. Connelly, Engine 238, was awarded the Stephenson Medal for the best disciplined company in FDNY in 1922. Captain Connelly was also Acting Battalion Chief for the 36th Battalion located with Engine 238.

FF Beck, Engine 238, was awarded the Brooklyn Citizens Medal for the heroic rescue of Oscar Samen and his son, who were trapped in a fire at 358 Hooper Street, Brooklyn, on February 12, 1927. FF Beck was acting as Chiefs Aide during the rescue.

FF Herbst, Ladder 106, was awarded the McElligott Medal for heroism rescuing Andrew Kiviatkowski who was trapped in a tenement fire at 178 Driggs Avenue, Brooklyn, on June 1, 1937.

LT Rakers, Ladder 106, was awarded the LaGuardia Medal for heroism rescuing Andrew Kiviatkowski who was trapped in a tenement fire on June 1, 1937, at 178 Driggs Avenue, Brooklyn, and for rescuing FF Herbst, Ladder 106, who was also attempting to rescue Mr. Kiviatkowski.

FF Herbst, Ladder 106, was awarded the LaGuardia Medal for the heroic rescue of a 3 year old boy trapped at a fire at 141 India Street, Brooklyn, on January 30, 1938.
