^^^^^^^. I don't remember seeing any ID in pictures of the front of 365 Jay St other than "FIRE HEADQUARTERS" or something similar in the stone arch over the apparatus door......at one point several years ago the bldg was sold to a college for a dollar which I thought was a waste of an FDNY Historical bldg.....in this current google it shows 365 Jay St with no lettering at all on the front ?.....it also has a "For Rent" sign on it ?.... https://www.google.com/maps/place/3...d13e94f33f0ab2!8m2!3d40.6926938!4d-73.9868875 ....does anybody remember "Sid's" the large 27,000 sq ft commercial / retail hardware store at 345 Jay St between the old FH / HQ & the end of Myrtle Ave (the old last stop on the Myrtle Ave El which was torn down around 1970 from Broadway to Jay St as the new train cars were too wide to fit through the old wooden stations & platforms along the Line ) ....."Sid's" had a tremendous inventory of many interesting items & always took good care of us in R*2 when we were still on Carlton Ave....it started it's demise from an Old Time Bit of Everything hardware store in a Multiple Alarm in the middle of the day around 1989 .....then reopened again but with much less old time inventory then in 2010 relocated to Hamilton Ave...... https://www.brooklynpaper.com/sids-bids-adieu-to-downtown/

On January 13, 1967 a gas explosion at 5:30 a.m. occurred in the South Jamaica section of Queens, New York. Although the blast and ensuing blaze demolished nine houses and badly damaged eight others plus garages and shops, hundreds of persons were evacuated without a single casualty. Only two policemen and a fireman suffered minor injuries.
