Love the idea that NYC and other cities allow companies to personalize their rigs. That one allowance gives the company an identity and spirit that can’t be bought. I remember back in the early ‘70’s when it really started at my first company ( L131)
Can historians out there remember any earlier company logo’s.
Why don’t other cities adopt this policy? When I see plain Jane rigs they look good but miss seeing the company spirit.

I believe 279/131 75/33 & 151/76 had to remove their logos at one point

I could be wrong but 279/131 were politically incorrect or some bs

75/33 because of an issue that happen at the fire house

151/76 because of a brawl & a member ending up in a coma

Not to start this subject up but your correct! There was a woke uproar about some pictures, phrases used by some companies. Happy Hookers was one of them if I recall E228- first in the Bush, E 250 -Fosters logo( similar to Fosters Beer) etc we’re some of them. Some companies changed and others just let the moment pass. I believe all companies had to submit any logo to Headquarters for approval

One minute you think you’ve seen them all
