Houston Firefighter/Medic Has Sudden Medical Emergency Tonight On Duty

There have been no public updates of FF/Paramedic Scott's condition since the evening of 9/14 after his on-duty emergency.

The word in the firehouse: He sustained a ruptured aortic aneurysm, had a twelve hour operation, is in the ICU, and will need another operation at some point.

He is at Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. This is one of the busiest Level 1 Trauma Centers in North America. The helicopter landing pad on the roof has a dispatch/air traffic control center that interfaces with all public safety agencies, hospitals, and the USCG in Southeast Texas.
This system was started in 1975 and is used to moving things in a hurry.
