Since "Capttomo" Started a thread, basically it asked "where would you put 3 additional ladder co's?" It got me thinking, what disbanded Compaines would members want to bring back, it can be any company, not just FDNY.

How about Eng 36 on East 125 St in Harlem. However make them a Squad that would cover Norther Manhattan & the South Bronx.
Squad 41 would switch with Engine 42 providing coverage for the West Bronx while Squad 61 will cover the East Bronx.

Engine 49 on Roosevelt Island.

With all the ongoing construction along the Northern Bklyn waterfront, how about Eng 212?

Last I heard 212's house was still owned by the city. With the increase in construction over there, it seems re-opening 212 would make a lot of sense. I think many places we'd all love to see re-opened have lost their houses to private sale or other city agencies (IE. E36).

Well Engine 36 former quarters were sold and are now home to https://sideways.nyc/discover/5lDsH...an-cultural-center-african-diaspora-institute

However, you can re-establish it with Engine 91 and add a ladder to boot. East Harlem is growing and the 2nd Ave subway is coming. It could be a 2 engine 1 ladder set up like the Rockaways Ehine 91 gets the ladder they lost when Ladder 43 was moved to Engine 53

A lot of these companies would just be stuck going out the door for EMS, and emergency runs for the trucks. Especially in a place like Harlem where the fire duty has significantly decreased over the past 20 years

Things to thinks about - most of the older firehouses were built when horses were pulling fire apparatus. Next how did the city get away with not placing a station in Battery Park City where thousands of people reside? A few engine companies were closed or moved from that area. Two of the nearest stations only house ladder companies.
