I have a question regarding this "so-called" Tip test: Did they do it with a REAL TRUE full load of equipment and 6 to 7 firefighters?

I'm guessing empty compartments and no people "for safety reasons" . . . or maybe they have Tilt Test Dummies? ?

I was wondering the same thing.  Especially with a rescue truck testing it now really doesn't mean a whole lot.  Its weight will increase significantly when all the equipment and manpower is added.  In addition that stuff shifts around when the truck moves instead of staying stationary.  I'm not really sure how valid the test is for real world operations.

The 'Official title' is "The Ten Seventy-five Tilt Test". It is designed to replicate actual driving conditions while en-route to: Numerous phone calls, 10-75's, 2nd Alarm on arrival, etc...

The back of the new rescues is interesting looking.  The blue lights up very strange and I'm surprised there aren't a at least two additional lights of the same prominence in either red or amber.  Also at this point it doesn't look like the rear of the rigs is going to have the Chevron markings to meet the new requirements?  I know the requirements are not mandatory but it seems like almost everybody is complying with them.  I wonder why FDNY isn't?

If you look at the the 2 right hand pictures in the top row of the in production pictures for rescue 5 http://www.ferrarafire.com/CustomerSupport/InProduction/InProduction.html it looks like they have modified the officer side of the box by adding an additional window near the front!  The picture on the far right has 2 windows near the front of the box (and one near the rear) while the middle picture only has 1 near the front.  The lighting has also been changed and the rescue five logo isn't there.

Also, is the round blue Rescue Services something new or just something new on the trucks?

The blue "Rescue Services" emblem has been around for awhile. The last Rescue rig that I saw it on was Rescue 1's 1996 HME/Saulsbury. I believe it was also on some of the older Rescue's.

The Mack Rescue's before the 96 HME/Saulsburys had it also, including the HazMat 1 Mack

There's a problem with the rig . . . the Cloaking Device seems to only be working on the lettering & decals ;D ;) ;D

Why does it look like all the decals were taking off of rescue 5?
Very interesting.  Certainly doesn't make much sense.  Maybe it has something to do with the white paint since they didn't take me off from the lower sections?

Maybe those that make the decisions, have decided, that there is a Rescue that needs replacing before 5's, maybe one that has a magnet bolted onto the back of the rig to pick up all the bits as they fall off as they go down the road...

Joking, maybe that or a problem with the apparatus or a change to the specs at the last minute.

Has anyone thought that maybe these photos were taken BEFORE the last set posted?

Yah but id thought thatd be ass backwards, they seamed to of only updated the page with current pics, its like taking pictures of a truck with the cab on the frame and then posting pictures of the cab still being assembleded.
