They are used for Electrical and gas fires such as methanol.

We don't do anything for manhole fires except if it travels to the buildings and ignites the building. Purple K is more of a fire seperator it is used to seperate the flame ffom the chemical or gas that is on fire.Being in a house with one of the original 2 Purple K rigs, the 4 companies that just got their rigs will realize how much of a pain it is to refill the ball when there is a mess everywhere. Use the nederman or do it outside the firehouse.
