On Friday May 1st '26 I had two very special visitors drive here (Norwich, Ct) to visit and have lunch at my favorite restaurant (Manny's in Norwich).

Driving all the way from Staten Island was FDNY firefighter Phil D., "Lebby" on this site.
A firefighter in a busy Brooklyn company, he also spent 6 1/2 years as a paramedic with the FDNY/EMS in some of the busiest stations in the Bronx and Manhattan.
Phil was a Rescue/Medic and Haz/Mat Tech as well.

Also from the Hartford, Ct area, Retired East Hartford Firefighter Pat D., "patrickfd" on this site.
Pat, like myself, buffed the FDNY for many years
He also spent some time as a firefighter with the Manchaster, Ct Fire Department after East Hartford.
Pat still buffs fires in the Hartford, Ct area where he also works fulltime as a "meter maid" in downtown Hartford
He also posts photos on his web site titled "squadfirephotos.com".

We were also joined by my good friend Ryan F., who is a Lt on the job here in Norwich.
I consider Ryan my adopted son as we both are into this fire department job.
Ryan is currently out on a job injury due to a very serious fire in which a mother and daughter died, trying to rescue them and he injured his shoulder over a year ago.
He loves the job and can't wait to get back.
Ryan also has his own web site for buffing fires in the area - "NLCFireWire".

The meal was great and I think we all enjoyed ourselves discussing our favorite topic - fire department stories.
