NYPD.

What's next, Bicycle patrol will not be permitted to coast downhill and hands must remain on handle bars at all times? Also no whistling of siren sounds?

BTW The George Norris book Exceptional Merit is a good read. I had to purchase the actual book! Yep Old Fashion!

President of the NYC Sergeants Benevolent Association calls for a nationwide boycott of Amazon.com, Redbubble.com and CafePress.com for profiting from the sale of selling anti-police merchandise

New York, NY, Sept. 14, 2015 - Ed Mullins, the President of the New York City Sergeants Benevolent Association, whose 13,000 members make it the fifth largest police union in the country, is calling for a nationwide boycott of online retail companies Amazon.com, Redbubble.com and Cafepress.com.

Redbubble and Cafepress are selling merchandise that includes T-shirts, hoodies, bumper stickers, infant body suits and even sippy cups with such volatile proclamations as ?F--- The Police.? Amazon, which had also advertised the items but has since removed them from its web site, still provides links to the other sites if a search for this merchandise is undertaken by a potential customer.

?There is a nationwide war on the law enforcement community, with police officers being slaughtered on a regular basis,? said President Mullins. ?The selling of these products only perpetuates violence and hatred toward the police. For these seemingly respectable outlets to offer such merchandise to their customers is unethical, immoral, irresponsible and reprehensible. As a result, I urge all law enforcement personnel, as well as members of the public to immediately boycott these companies. They should not be earning profits from the blood of those who are paid to protect and serve society during these tumultuous times.?

Amazon is based in Seattle, Washington. Redbubble is headquartered in Australia, with offices in San Francisco, California, and Cafepress is located in Louisville, Kentucky.

?Just yesterday a Kentucky state trooper was shot to death during a traffic stop, so it is particularly egregious that a Kentucky based company would be selling such trash,? said Mullins. ?Making things even worse is the fact that Caf?press posts an American flag next to its logo. There are few things more un-American than profiting from the malevolence that is currently being directed toward the police during these extremely violent and challenging times.?

For several years I have been a steady customer of Amazon.

But after reading this, I know of at least ONE Amazon Customer that they won't have anymore. There's plenty of other places out there that would be more than happy to take my money instead. And wherever that business is, I will make it a point to let them know why I don't shop at Amazon anymore.

I will remain steady on the side of the police. They have one of the toughest and most dangerous jobs in the country. Yet they are battered by citizens daily.

Although I am not a resident of the City of New York, didn't the mayor himself go against the police at one point. I have NOT forgotten what he told his family just a few months ago. Do you remember that ? Something like "Don't trust the police". I remember the members of the NYPD turning their backs on him when he tried to speak to them in protest. Including after two members of the NYPD were just randomly gunned down while they sat in their patrol car.

Of course since that time, the mayor has tried to change his tune somewhat.

So I will gladly take my money elsewhere. That's the least I can do to show my support for the people who protect me every minute of my life. I think I'll also drop an Email to Amazon to let them know just how I feel and to tell them that I will spread the word the best I can. Unless Amazon removes that link to those other sites, I will remain one less Amazon customer.

I believe that Amazon and the link of Caf? Press offering offensive police clothing has reconsidered. This evening I went to check and I believe that the offensive police clothing etc has been removed. I had planned to send Amazon another Email if it hadn't been. Telling them that I was in the market to do some shopping BUT ......

Based on what I see, it has been removed. Amazon does have a link to Caf? Press, but a check of that also showed no offensive police clothing listed.

Perhaps there has been enough pressure on these two businesses that for just once, "maybe the good guys have won".

I will refrain from placing any order with Amazon for the next few days. If anyone does check either one of those sites and finds that there is offense police clothing etc on there, please let me know. I will continue to refrain from placing my order and advise Amazon, once again, of my reason for going elsewhere.

'All Gave Some; Some Gave All'.

This brilliant idea probably came from some bleeding heart liberal who obviously doesn't have a clue or a brain cell for that matter.

Why don't we just take the cops off the streets for about 30 minutes or so and see how that works out. That way there won't be any discussion about which way to cuff any criminals, or use of excessive force etc.

I just would like to pass on a story I heard about the cops the other day.

A police officer was being filmed holding a suspect face down on the ground while trying to hand cuff the suspect. While the officer is attempting to put those cuffs on, "the police officer punches the guy while holding the perp down" as the video camera is rolling. But what that video camera did NOT show....was the human bite that the officer received on his hand while trying to cuff the perp. That officers injury required a visit to the hospital for treatment of a human bite wound. But the video didn't mention that in the story.

Well I know who's side I'm on. And I know that I have a few friends who think the same way. We all respect the police for what they do. If anybody out there knows of anyway that we can help you (police officers) let us know. Sometimes I just wish that we could take care of things OURSELVES. That might lower the crime rate and then it won't be necessary to discuss the cuffing of any perp in front OR back anymore.
