They probably will do pretty good in sand but you should know like everyone else does who lives in the snow belt that wide tires are useless in snow!
 
Dual tires work good in snow because in addition to the tread on the flat part of the tires the edges bite  into the snow therefore duals have twice as many biting edges as a single wheel rear axle.
