I am going to monitor this winter storm and it’s very likely for a good amount of snow do NYC but we are a decent way out and subject to change. I’ll update this as necessary

As of right now looks like NYC can easily get 6-14 inches


STAFFING 9X & 6X SUNDAY


All 197 Engines with 5 Firefighters
All 5 Thawing Units Inservice Staffed with 2 Firefighters
(One Assigned on 10-75)
All Marine Companies 3 Extra Firefighters
Both Tactical Support Units with Extra Firefighter

Safety Battalion 2 @ Engine 91
(Division 3, 6, 7, 14 - Batt 49 & 52 Boxes)
Rescue Battalion 2 @ Rescue 2 (Tactical Support Unit 2 Boxes)
Battalion 73 @ Engine 168 (Engine 168, 164, 151 - Squad 8 First Due Boxes)
Battalion 74 @ Engine 329 (Engine 329, 268 - First Due Boxes)
Division 20 @ Engine 247 (Division 8 Brooklyn Boxes)

In a situation like this where they need the extra vehicles couldn't they just work off of the radio?
In that situation 100%, although alot of nessecariy details wouldnt be available to the chief, however they all have the Department Phones so they would be able to pull it up regardless.
 
6-14 inches will be a ton of fun for the city. I recall just about 12-16 inches was enough to start wreaking havoc with the 3rd rail shoes on the Subway, Metro North and LIRR trains
 
I just noticed that post that showed the "Manning" for the storm had Aides for all the EMS Conditions units. That was a good idea back when, however as soon as there was a vacancy on an ambulance, i.e. sick call, or other reason, that Aide went on the bus and the Conditions boss was on his/her lone as usual.
 
Fleet was told get their crap together recently and get the command cars for EMS and battalions fixed or else....and what do you know.....more vehicles available......
