In a situation like this where they need the extra vehicles couldn't they just work off of the radio?
In that situation 100%, although alot of nessecariy details wouldnt be available to the chief, however they all have the Department Phones so they would be able to pull it up regardless.

6-14 inches will be a ton of fun for the city. I recall just about 12-16 inches was enough to start wreaking havoc with the 3rd rail shoes on the Subway, Metro North and LIRR trains

I just noticed that post that showed the "Manning" for the storm had Aides for all the EMS Conditions units. That was a good idea back when, however as soon as there was a vacancy on an ambulance, i.e. sick call, or other reason, that Aide went on the bus and the Conditions boss was on his/her lone as usual.

Fleet was told get their crap together recently and get the command cars for EMS and battalions fixed or else....and what do you know.....more vehicles available......

I mean either way it works out, either a bus stays in service or the Lt gets an aide
