    4/6/22 Brooklyn 10-75 Box 3792

Smack dab in the middle of all 3 Brooklyn divisions - all on the initial ticket too

    3/27/22 Manhattan 2nd Alarm Box 0250

10-4. 9/6 can beat 15/18 into this if they want. They pick up some steam flying down Grand Street while 15/18 has to go against traffic initially.

    3/27/22 Manhattan 2nd Alarm Box 0250

Were 28/11 coming from another box? They should be before 55 and 20. Although I’m sure 11 Truck prefers being 4th due T over FAST.

    New Roof Rope Bag/Rescue Procedures

Its been in development for at least 5 years now. Works well. Not sure what the hold up is - probably money.

3/24/22 Manhattan All Hands Box 0229

Pretty sure 15 engine before 55 - especially since 55 is “second to nobody” lol

    3/23/22 Brooklyn 3rd Alarm Box 2493

Yes - but these are for like you said handie talkie urgents. these are for borough dispatcher urgents: 8.6.1 Types of Urgent Radio Messages A. Second or greater alarms B. Calls for additional companies, ambulances, special units, or "10-75" C. Dispatcher’s orders to units away from quarters...

    3/23/22 Brooklyn 3rd Alarm Box 2493

Not sure what you mean by the “only ten code” but sorry this is incorrect information. Giving 10-75’s or greater and about 9 other circumstances are spelled out in communications chapter 8 as reasons to give an urgent over the department radio.

    3/23/22 Brooklyn 3rd Alarm Box 2493

Well aware and have given urgents in my career. Like has been said - sounds like 250 and 147 had their hands full when pulling up in the middle of the night. If the 10-30 signal was given, and all types of accompanying reports being given by the dispatchers, maybe the bosses felt the BETTER move...

They may have just jumped off the rig to go to work instead of waiting for clear air on the radio.

    3/20/22 Queens All-Hands Box 8300

Was sent to Breezy after Hurricane Sandy for a night tour and there were a couple jobs that night in Far Rock - thought we’d be on the ticket but not even close!

    3/20/22 Queens All-Hands Box 8300

An interesting area where the two divisions that have companies the furthest from each other in maybe the city (151/76 and 314) actually are on the same ticket!

Former Red Sox Pitcher Graduates from MA Fire Academy March 15, 2022

This actually happens more than we know. Plenty of professional athletes have become firefighters over the years. Just not the well known ones. Seems like a good match to me!

3/15/22: Chief Jonas 7th Div. Retiring

Means you are electing to leave prior to completing your retirement requirement. Entitled to a vested annuity based on your contributions into the pension system - but can’t collect anything until you hit your 20 or 25 years from date of hire.

3/15/22 Brooklyn All Hands Box 1718

Another one of those areas where the first due E and T don’t have their assigned battalion even on the ticket. Seems like the 39 goes more into Queens if anything with 294/143 than with 290/103. The 31 and 57 seem to be another area where this happens frequently. 119 never seems to run in with...

    3-14-22....BKLYN 10-77 BOX 784.

Fantastic! That’s a proactive LCC! Right on the sidewalk and makes the sill on the 10th floor! Bravo!
