I agree it was an opportunity for training but in this case there was another call that the rescue was needed on and they could've responded sooner if I hadn't been tied up on this call.
Wonder why they wasted FDNY resources on this. Most departments would have just let them call the tow truck to remove the vehicle. Maybe have a engine company standing by in case of a fluid spill.
This is what the Democrats are doing to everything, dumbing it down to the lowest common denominator! Forget about what it takes to do a job, just make sure that everybody can qualify! Then you can pick the ones you want to have the job. Sorry about not being very PC but...
According to the story it started in a Chinese restaurant on the 1st floor.

I'm kind of surprised at that. When I've talked to the firefighters at WDW we always seem pretty happy with the arrangement of working for Disney instead of for a government entity.
If I lived in the building I would certainly be against it! Based on what's happened recently elsewhere with lithium-ion battery fires I would certainly think it's safer place to be found put some. In addition to the huge fire risk, accessibility to fighting fire would be much more difficult...
Naples New York which is in the wine country of New York State has purple apparatus in Point Pleasant fire department outside of Rochester New York have green fire apparatus because their name is Pea Pickers.
I couldn't find a link to Naples but here's one to Point Pleasant...
My concern would be that somebody working that much overtime is much more likely to get hurt on the job. They obviously are not getting sufficient rest and time to recover between shifts.
He's just abusing the system making that much working overtime! My guess is he's getting ready to retire and doing this to get a much larger retirement.
That's utterly ridiculous! Assuming he was paid double time for all the overtime he worked still had to have worked 1.5x more hours and overtime than he did regular time. It's ridiculously to let him work that many hours just from a safety standpoint!
The time for water under fire should be affected by anything you mentioned except in very rare circumstances. The 1st water on the fire come from the tank water on the 1st due engine company so hydrant availability shouldn't be affected in any way.
Like 68JK09 said previously it's very...
I've recently read about several other battery technologies that may be better in the long run than lithium-ion, from what I read those are not as dangerous either which will deftly be a good thing.
We've all had these things happen and seen them happen in other areas but I don't believe I've never really heard an explanation for the extreme changes in delivery times. Costs are one thing in inflation and shortages certainly aren't helping that, but the long delivery times is becoming a...
