    FDNY EMS 25th Anniversary

    1) From a documenting and transport perspective there are quite a few differences, but as far as immediate life saving actions go CFR-D can do much of what EMTs can. But, really the most import thing a CFR engine can do on an EMS run is starting CPR. Even if they weren't CFR certified that alone...

3/5/21 Manhattan "Serious MVA" Box 0843

There have been a number of these incidents, thankfully the vast majority have resulted in no or few injures (usually the driver). Whilst I understand the businesses' viewpoint of wanting more seating especially when they're percent limited, streets are not a safe alternative. Also, as many of...

    Manhole Fires

I think this month has been particularly brutal due to the large amount of snow and ice we've experienced. Also, the city has a new very proactive and efficient Sanitation Commissioner which may have something to do with an increase in salt.

    ENG*212 / UTILITY UNIT*1 / THE PEOPLES FH.

Was doing some research on E*36 and found this great article highlighting the 2003 company closures. Of note is Paul Veneski, a civilian activist who like this father stormed E*212 in the hope of saving it from closure. A cruel lesson in history repeating itself...

    OUR MILITARY.

Speaks a lot to the character of Chief Warrant Officer 2 Daniel Prial that he resigned his original commission to continue flying a helicopter and not a desk. While I'm sure it is little condolence to his family, at very least he passed doing what he loved. A truly tragic loss...
