Does anyone know why in Boston alarms after the 2nd only have 2 engines or 2 engines and a ladder? Is it because of their lack of resources or something else?
They obviously had a very poorly run department with no checks for financial operations! Every organization big or small needs to have checks and balances to control their finances!
There are many many volunteer fire departments throughout the United States that have operated legally with no embezzlement for over 100 years in many cases! As long as they are set up correctly and have appropriate checks and measures in place and they have no problem whatsoever!
Happens all the time in the summer up that way. They put up new hay and it's not completely dry, combining the wet hay with high temperatures and you get spontaneous combustion! Went to many of them when I was a firefighter outside of Rochester.
Not really, those roofs nothing but sheet-metal and foam, very easy to cut with a K-Saw. The problem is that's going to create a good bit of damage to be repaired. Using a large fan (in this case the boat) is probably just as effective and causes a lot less damage.
I don't know why they need to get the fancy was all a tracking etc., just get a couple of duck hunters out there with 12gauge shotguns and the problem will be solved!

Do you know what the minimum extension is when it can lift the 22,000 pounds? That might be useful in some circumstances but the lifting capacity at isn't going to be very helpful.
Your guess is probably as good as anyone else's! I did have one in NYC for a demo a couple of years ago around St. Patrick's, it was soon after the fire at Notre Dame in Paris.
