      The middle 3 photos are of a pump test of six 1917 Robinson 700gpm pumpers. The bottom photo has me stumped. In fact, it might have been something the department was trying out but never bought.

      The top photo is from 1913 pump test of two 1913 Nott 500gpm piston pumpers. Both were assigned to Staten Island companies. One to E160 and the other went to E156. E156's was wrecked in a MVA in 1914.

    Yes, L54 had a 1953 ALF tiller (#375) that they ran with for 19 yrs. The rig was one of the first three 1953 ALF 85ft. metal aerials assigned to Queens. The other two went to L126 & L129. ;)

      From 1952 to 1954, the city purchased 65 (1952-30, 1953-10 and 1954-25) Ward LaFrance Type 85-T 750 gpm w/250 gallon tanks. Civil Defense pumpers.

    Also the first L17-2 in the Bronx disbanded in 1915. Also original Manhattan E89 disbnded in 1909.

    Engine 82's 1960 WLF #5928 was actually reassigned to E249 where it served for another 2 years until E249 received a 1970 Mack CF.

    The first cab forward engines were the twenty 1947 American LaFrance 700 series 750gpm pumpers of which Engine 1's was one of them. They were originally assigned to Engines: 1, 7, 9, 12, 32, 58, 72, 96, 97, 160, 162, 201, 202, 203, 220, 236, 237, 267, 278 & 313.

    There were two Squrts with #MS7001 originally assigned to E310 and remained there until around 1975-76. In 1980 it was converted into a Foam Squrt and assigned to Staten Island, first with E160 then with E154. The second Squrt was #MS7002, was originally assigned to E71 but E71 was too busy...
