52 E. 114th St. firehouse was a 2 bay station opened July 1, 1904 built for a double Ladder 26 and Water Tower 4. Water Tower 4 was there from day one until March 9, 1957. The 2nd section of Ladder 26 was disbanded on Nov. 1st, 1946 so there was room for E58 to be moved in there in 1948 from...

I've been meaning to post this since last week, they finally built a shelter for some of the S.O.C. rigs that are kept across the street from Engne 160/Rescue 5:
Common practice back in the past to stack engine & truck, engine & rescue, or engine & squad. Some I remember were: E210/R2, E65/R1, E73/Sq2, E41/Sq5, E23/L4*, E68/L49, E244/L161*, and many of the double engine companies. ;)

1960 Wards in Queens were originally assigned to E260, E297, E298 & E325 and we all know 298's was destroyed in the 1967 Jamaica gas explosion/fire. E325's rig was temporarily reassigned to E94 when 94's 1962 International burned up but was returned to E325. ;) E272, E288, E311 & E331 got...
