      Yes L85 had the 1948 Pirsch that was originally assigned to L4 until 1960. After brief stays at L13 & L3, the '48 Pirsch went to L85 around 1962-63 replacing a 1938 FWD 85ft. (x-L105). ;)

My chart shows L124 had a 1933 Walter 75ft. stick until 1960 when they got a reassigned 1955 FWD 75ft. stick (ex-L114) . Their next rig came in 1968, a reassigned 1960 ALF 100ft. (ex-L26) which they ran with until they got their first tower ladder in 1972.

Yes,  past the 60's and into the 70's. The only metal aerials on S.I. in 1970 were L77's 1960 Mack, L78's 1953 ALF (x-L17), L80's 1953 ALF, L83's 1962 Seagrave (X-L27), and L84's brand new 1970 Seagrave rearmount. According to the Staten Island Centennial Book: L79 had the last wooden aerial...

The last wooden aerial in Manhattan was L15's 1955 FWD 75ft. (shop #400) that was replaced in 1962 with a 1953 ALF 85ft. (#366) that was formerly L19. That 1955 FWD (#400) was reassigned to L52, later received a 1969 Mack MB tractor then went on to have the distinction of being the last...

L4 had the one 1948 Pirsch w/doors (#355) that was delivered when FDNY got their first three metal aerials, one each from Seagrave (L110), Pirsch (L4) & American LaFrance (L24).

Ladder 26 had a 1937 Seagrave 85ft. wooden stick (shop #318) which was originally assigned to L6 but was too long to respond around Chinatown. L6 got a 1941 Seagrave 75ft. and the 1937 85ft. went to L26. The '37 Seagrave served them until 1953, when they got a 1953 Pirsch 85ft. (#356) metal...

There were some "must fill" companies that relocated sometimes like L33 often relocated to L27 and L42 relocated to L44 on a couple of Washington Hts. boxes. L47 used to relocate to L51.

      Back before 1969, Engines 38, 41, 42, 43, 48, 50, 81, 83, 89, 90 & 94 relocated and their firehouses were not filled. Engines 45, 46, 52, 60, 63, 64, 68, 70, 71, 73, 75, 79, 82, 92 & 97 were "must fill" companies.  Ladder companies 17*, 27, 31*, 33, 37, 39*, 41, 42, 44*, 47, 51*, 52*, & 53*...

Engine 62 was organized on Feb. 1, 1896 as a combination fire co. (pumper, chemical hose wagon & city service ladder truck). Except for a short period between July 2, 1900 and Dec. 12, 1903 they remained a combination fire co. until Ladder 32 was relocated there Dec. 20, 1928. Ladder 32 was...

I was told by a retired chief that the WLF quads had "pump and roll" capability but they were extremely long and sometimes got bogged down. ;)

E161 had their quad until 1961 when they got former E296's 1951 WLF which was right after L81 came over from E159.  I don't know how long E152 had their quad but my lists show E289's Mack C was reassigned to E152 when 289 got a new 1963 Mack C.

E96's quad (#2613) was reassigned to E310 with E96 getting E310's standard 1951 WLF pumper. That same quad was later sent to E323 with E310 getting E323's 1953 WLF.  Engine 251 had their quad for a long time, I believe until 1968.  ;)

Ladder 76 had their quad (shop #2614) for a short time. It was replaced with a new 1955 FWD 75ft. wooden aerial. Their quad was reassigned to E267 (double engine house) in the Rockaways because L121 had been relocated from E266/E267 to E265. ;)
